Cairo’s fashion culture is booming – fact. From the emergence of new, local brands and designers, to a general renewed interest in design, fashion in Egypt’s capital is as big as it has ever been and Islam Ahmed and his team at fashion consultancy agency, Vichi, have been in the wings every step of the way.
Having originally launched as an online fashion destination providing Cairenes with news, views and insights on both local and international fashion, Islam and co have also been making waves outside of the World Wide Web; following the success of events like Baroque earlier this year, Vichi is set to take over Le Meridien Cairo Airport on Tuesday 26th of May for Rafik Zaki’s fall-winter 2015 collection launch.

The Egyptian designer has built quite the reputation for himself in the last few years, thanks to his keen eye and versatility when it comes to dresses. Having studied at Istituto di Moda Burgo, Zaki launched his first line in 2012 and Tuesday’s event will see him unleash a total of thirty different royal-themed pieces for Cairo’s fashionistas.
Things kick off at 7PM with some red carpet shenanigans, before a cocktail reception with live music and a runway show complete what is set to be a typically glam Vichi night.
