They say that your wedding is the most important day of your life and while many would disagree, that sentiment does explain the phenomenon that is the bridezilla. As with anything that would be tagged as the most important day of your life, weddings are, to say the very least, rather stressful in Cairo – but it needn’t be either stressful or even in Cairo.
You see, brides and grooms-to-be, that picture-perfect beach wedding that we see on TV, film and weird stock photos, is actually much more of a reality that you’d think, thanks to the Smokery, which has launched a new beach-wedding venue in El Gouna.
The Smokery Beach is located just a few steps away from the Smokery Yacht Club in the New Marina and offers the same quality of catering that we’ve come to expect from the Smokery. As a venue, it can hold up to 1500 guests and its set-up is versatile enough that you can tweak and customise your wedding to your heart’s desire – you can set-up a stage, for example, or go hippy and do it all on the sand, including the buffet.
Having already hosted memorable weddings, as well as last year’s Ocean Beats party in Easter, it’s already gearing up for a busy wedding season, with another huge event also in the works as we speak for this year’s Easter break. We’ve promised our friends at the Smokery not to disclose information about the upcoming event, but it has been described as being based on an ‘insane partnership’ – not unlike marriage. Ha! Ha ha? No? Fine.
