I am a vain, narcissistic and conceited human being with too much time on my hands and I want an RE camera to take selfies at bars.
HTC‘s waterproof, wide-angled camera – which many are predicting could rival the increasingly popular GoPro – is no bigger than an asthma inhaler and looks like something sent from the future to destroy mankind. It switches on automatically when picked up and is operated with just two buttons – one tap of a the shutter button takes a photo, while pressing it for longer starts video recording.
The 16MP camera can shoot 1080p in HD and an in-built app lets users stream live footage to smartphones and tablets.
However, it's unlikely that HTC will knock GoPro off of its perch anytime soon as the RE does come with drawbacks. Firstly, there is no screen. The bigger problem, however, is that GoPro have recently launched its cheapest model which, according to insiders, costs less than the RE will.
Still, I am a vain, narcissistic, conceited human being with too much time on my hands and I want an RE camera to take selfies at bars.
