If your as sick of ‘Oriental takht groups’ this Ramadan, join the queue. I don’t care if it is ‘traditional’ – it’s tedious, dreary and mind-numbing. With bars closed and venues that usually host live music being conspicuous in their absence, there’s not much in the way of entertainment.
Clearly, the good people the brand, spanking new Le Méridien Cairo Airport agree and are set to oblige with a very special event.
Despite having only opened a few months or so ago, the hotel has taken to Ramadan in style and has already proved to be a popular sohour hangout spot – especially the hotel’s ‘Live’ Sports Bar, where the World Cup matches have been screened.
Not ones to rest on their laurels, though, the Le Méridien team have pulled a proverbial rabbit out of hat with a special Ramadan gig featuring kooky band, Sharmoofers.
The three-man group have enjoyed a cult-following of sorts, after the video for 'Khamsa Santy' went viral, racking up over 1.5 million views - and they're even better live. Check them out.
