On Wednesday 9th of September, the Music Tent played host to one of the biggest music events of the year in Egypt, with three of the most talented, popular and just plain coolest musicians in the country stepping out of their usual band and solo work to collaborate on stage for a very special gig.
HOH saw Hany Adel of Wust El Balad and Ta7t El Saytara fame, Massar Egbari front-man, Hany El Dakak, and the man many consider to be the best guitarist in Egypt, Ousso Lotfy, combine their considerable superhero-like musical powers come together on an electric night.
There wasn’t just two H’s there, though – there was a third H in the form of Huawei, who touched down at the Music Tent in its latest stop-off for this year’s release of the revolutionary new P8, as attendees of the gig enjoyed Huawei’s wacky photo booth, as well as the P8’s Light Painting feature.
Having launched in style earlier this year at Citystars with a special event that saw the new smartphone sell out within an hour, Huawei was also spotted along the North Coast, specifically at nightclub, Tabla, and the silky shores of Marassi, offering Sahel Season loyalists some kooky fun with the P8.
With a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera, the P8 has, in no uncertain terms, taken the country by storm, with the smartphone’s many innovative features proving to be a hit with Egypt’s technophiles.
