What happens when an immovable object meets an unstoppable force? Well, bearded men in round-framed glasses and patches on the elbows of their blazers have been pondering that for years, but we think we’ve cracked it with Chivas Regal 12’s latest Made For Gentlemen collaboration.
As one of the world’s premiere whiskies, Chivas is a name synonymous with all that has come to form the modern man. We’re not talking about excessive grooming rituals of the metrosexual – heavens, no – we’re talking about the sophisticated, cigar-toting, whisky-savouring, globetrotting man – aha, did you see what we did there?
Yes, Chivas has teamed up with luxury suitcase and leather brand, Globe-Trotter, for three very cool, very awesome collectibles for the worldly gentlemen among us. In addition to the specially designed gift tin, a smart 20 inch carry-on trolley case perfect for short-haul business flights and naughty getaways is now on the market. The two British giants have also produced a steamer trunk with a typically modern Chivas twist – one that boasts a mini-bar, compartments for shoes, a drawer for watches and leather-bound hangers, all wrapped up in a perfect meeting of minds with the two parties.
Founded in 1897, Globe-Trotter is a perfect fit for the Chivas name, bringing its own aura of style and refinement to a collaboration that also called on the talents of British illustrator, Andrew Davidson, who led the travel-sticker aesthetic of the tin, as Global Brand Director of Chivas Regal, Richard Black, testified.
“We are delighted to be partnering with GlobeTrotter for the fourth stage of our Made for Gentlemen journey. Modern gentlemen are constantly on the lookout for authentic, stylish experiences and products wherever they are in the world and we believe the three limited editions we co-created with Globe-Trotter could be a passport to just these types of experiences.”
It’s been a busy time for luxury Scotch whisky, who also recently released a brand new design for the Chivas 12 pack. But in what many considered a bold move for the award winning whisky and in other previous Made for Gentlemen partnerships, the Chivas spirit has remained key.
