  • KRISS Salon Will Cut Your Hair for Free and Donate it to Cancer Patients

The boys may be growing their moustaches out this month, but as for the ladies, you may be eligible to get a free haircut from KRISS, one of Cairo’s top salons.

The beauty salon recently posted a breast cancer awareness image to their Facebook page announcing that, for the next two weeks, they’ll be offering free wash, cut and styling to those looking to donate their hair for wigs for cancer patients.

“This is the least we can offer to the courageous and generous women donating and supporting this fight,” says KRISS Beauty Salons Operations Manager Karim Kamal.

The hair to be cut (so not measuring from root to ends, but ponytail length) must be at least 20cm long when straightened. Previously colour-treated or keratin-treated hair is acceptable as long as it was treated only once, as the hair becomes too weak to be weaved into a wig.

After the hair is measured, braided and cut, it will be kept with other donations and then made into wigs and extensions before being passed on to an organisation that will give them to breast cancer patients free of charge.

“Kriss [the founder] personally worked with cancer patients, some of whom made it and recovered and some battled their fight until the end,” says Kamal. “The common thing between those women was their grace and inner beauty that brought so much positive energy to the house.  How can we not back them up and fight next to them?!”

So if you’ve been mulling over the idea of going for the chop, make it count and head over to KRISS Beauty Salons. The offer is valid until the 11th of November.
