So apparently there’s a very interesting charity event going on this Saturday at AUC! Some of you may already be familiar with this and might have even participated in the past. An international organization called the Terry Fox Foundation (he’s a pretty inspiring guy if you want to read about him) organizes annual cross-country runs in Egypt to raise money for the Children’s Cancer Hospital. This event used to be held at the pyramids in the past, but this year they’re bringing it to AUC.
Don’t let the term cross-country scare you off, though; it’s actually only 3.5km! That’s really not a lot and even fairly inactive people can get it done. It starts at 9am and is open to everyone. We know it’s early and we’ll all be hung over, but it’s a great feeling to give back. And a greater feeling to put effort into giving rather than just writing a check! So we’re gonna try to get ourselves out of bed, come Saturday, and run to raise money for the Children’s Cancer Hospital. Will you be joining us?
