After finding success as one of the most unique events of its kind in the last two years, Egypt’s first and only specialised event in the field of free sports, motor and air bikes, Biker Zone, is gearing up for a huge third edition this May.
Taking place this year at Cairo Festival City in New Cairo between Thursday 5th and Saturday 7th of May, Biker Zone has come to enjoy a cult following amongst Cairenes from different walks of life, appealing to petrol-heads and adrenaline junkies alike. Speaking about what is shaping up to be the best edition yet, managing director of organiser, Phenomena, Mahmoud Mazen, has promised plenty of treats.
“This year, the event holds many new zones and great surprises. All lovers of sports will enjoy themselves and have a great time with us - which is our main intention from this event.”
It’s an intention that has captured the imagination of many and Biker Zone stands as one of the most encompassing conventions of its kind. Whether you’re a biker, desert adventurer or just someone who likes to get a little dirty when they have fun, Biker Zone’s exhibitors and activities have you covered.
The 2015 edition of Biker Zone saw over 20,000Egyptians flock to the event, which featured over 70 brands across 35 big exhibitors. In addition, some local bands such as Karkadan and Lel We Ein performed while attendees were also treated to parkour demonstrations, capoeira shows and even bike stunt shows – yeah, it’s a carnival.

This year, though, Biker Zone is shaping up to be even bigger, with new ‘zones’ such as the Scout Zone being introduced Masr Baladna to help foster kids’ individual and group skills through various activities. The ‘Get Moving Zone’ is new, too, and will showcase some of the best up-and-coming, adrenaline-inducing sports around right now, though the most exciting new addition comes in the form of the ‘Off Road’ Zone. Though Phenomena have kept their cards close to their chest with this one, what we do know is that it will very much appeal to off-roaders and 4-wheel fans.
