  • Ballon d’Or: Mo Salah Ranks Sixth, Luka Modric Wins

Liverpool’s Egyptian forward Mo Salah, who last season set a record for the most goals in a 38-game Premier League season, ranked sixth among the nominees for the Ballon d’Or.

This is the first time that an Egyptian has been nominated for the Ballon d’Or, an achievement worthy of recognition.

The award is given according to the performance of the players in all competitions they take part in, and it is speculated that Modric won this year because of his exceptional performance in leading Croatia to the 2018 FIFA World Cup final in Russia.

Salah won the Premier League’s Golden Boot in May with 32 goals at only 26 years of age, in addition to many other occasions where he made us proud with awards such as the PFA award, the FWA award, the Confederation of African Football’s African Player of the Year Award, and more.

Congratulations, Mo, and here’s to many more celebrations in your honour!
