The folk at Zooba can rightly claim to be one of the main contributors in the wave of elevated Egyptian street food that has come to be a major element of the dining scene. Though several new branches over the last few years have paid testament to its growing popularity, the restaurant is still a target for naysayers who aren’t to keen paying 7.50LE for a sandwich that would otherwise usually cost much less – something they have addressed in a brilliant new video…
Self-mockery aside, the video also marks the launch of a new smaller and cheaper size of sandwich, while also arguing the case that, yes, the sandwiches are more expensive than the norm, but you get plenty of bang for your buck in the way of quality and quantity. Maybe this will finally ease tensions between Zooba’s pro and anti lobbies. But probably not.
