Wahawai Ramadan Lounge has been attracting Cairene’s from all walk of life during the holy month. Combining the old with the new, the traditional with the modern, Wahawi has provided an alternative to this year’s more flamboyant kheimas with relaxed, Nile-side evenings.
On Monday 5th of August, the Le Pacha 1901-located tent will host a fundraising event for the Right To Live Association.
RTLA, which raises awareness and money for the intellectually disabled in Egypt, was founded in 1984 and has been going strong ever since. The non-profit organisation’s Right to Climb initiative challenges the brave to undertake a six-day climb of Mount Kenya – the second-highest mountain in Africa, after the beast that is Kilimanjaro.
Mountaineer and all-round Egyptian Action Man, Omar Samra, will speak at the event, as well as other members of the RTLA and ex-RTC Climbers. But that’s not all; the one and only Safi will also attend, while hopefully jumping into the DJ booth for a few tunes.
