Restaurant, cafe, art gallery, boho-hangout; the Tipsy Teapot is all of these things and more. Having opened earlier this year, the unique Maadi venue has made quite the impression on locals for its good food, communal atmosphere and ever-so-slightly hippie approach to the hustle and bustle of life in Cairo.
But the laidback atmosphere will be put aside for one particularly special day this month, as budding amateur chefs, as well as more seasoned professional food fiddlers, face off in the Big Cook Off.
Open to everyone and anyone who thinks they're a Michelin Star chef in the making, the event is set to take place on Friday 29th of August, and foodies from around the city are set to flock to the competition to pass judgement - a personal hobby of mine.
The Tipsy Teapot owners are also inviting local food and drink vendors to set-up shop with a stall with the aim of introducing and exposing your gastronomic creations to the public.
