With the likes of Disco Masr, M. Fayek, AK, Aly B and Ahmed Samy among the names flying the flag for the local music scene, there’s a nice degree of variety of music – the only issue is making a decision…

    We begin with the triumphant return of nineteen84 Management, who have teamed with Bershka once more another edition of #ForTheLoveOfMusic – the first in Cairo – with young cutey-petuty duo, Disco Masr, and the one of the coolest cats in town, Ramy DJunkie, providing the music aboard Le Pacha 1901′s rooftop venue, OnTop.

    WINTER FRESH @ THE TEMPLE

    The first of two big events at everyone’s favourite dark, slightly creepy but ultimately somehow satisfying venue, the Temple, comes in the form of Winter Fresh on a night that will see Mykonos DJ, Anastasis Basias, drop some musical bombs, with Cairo’s DJ AK also taking to the decks.

    For those who  haven’t heard of Gustavo Mota, the Brazilian has got this whole DJing thing down to a tee; not only does he appear high in the various disc-jockey rankings, but he wears sunglasses, chains and leather jackets like a pro. This weekend, he headlines a night that will also feature Abou Samra and M. Fayek.

    LOULII + NOURRE FAHMY + SEBZZ @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB

    Fridays at Cairo Jazz Club have emerged as a must for the trendiest electro-hispter dudes and dudettes and this weekend’s edition of Friday Fever is set to welcome three DJs who have very bright futures, as Loulli Megahed makes a rare appearance with SDJ 2014 standout, Nourre Fahmy, and the enigmatic Sebzz.

    VENT PRESENTS 31 YEARS OF AHMED SAMY @ CAFE D’NILE

    The physical VENT might be dead, but the spirit lives on and has been wreaking havoc across Cairo for the last month or so. The latest VENT event comes in the shape of a special celebration of the life and times of resident DJ, Ahmed Samy, who – despite sporting the cheeky face eyes of a fresh-faced youngster – will be celebrating his 31st birthday with Zeina and Habiba.

    MOBILEE #LETGO @ THE TEMPLE

    Berlin comes to Cairo courtesy of Blurr Entertainment, as infamous record label and party-pusher, Mobilee, sends a delegation made up of founder and Queen-Bee, Anja Schneider, as well as AND.ID, who”ll be busting out a live performance, and Aly B, who is set to fly the flag for Cairo at the Temple.

    ROSWELL @ THE TAP

    By Saturday, Lebanese rock band, Roswell, will have played at both Bikya and ROOM Art Space and will go on to finish off their mini Cairo tour with a performance at a venue befitting of their rock and roll antics, Maadi bar, the Tap.
