  • Things to do in Cairo This Weekend

    thingsgg

With Ramadan closing in, we implore diligent party-going Cairenes to go out hard this weekend and drink the bars dry. Years of practice have prepared us for this moment and it is finally our time to shine. As global citizens, it is our responsibility to make sure nothing goes to waste.

    ALY GOEDE + 1127 @ VENT
    (Thursday)

Sadly, VENT’s final Club Night of the season is nearly upon us. Featuring deep-tech-beast Aly Goede and VENT’s very own hip-hop resident, 1127, behind the decks, this is a night that should see party-goers struggle to decide whether to get down and dirty to r&b beats or to  pump their fists to Goede’s basslines.
    __________

YASMINE HAMDAN @ THE MUSIC TENT
    (Friday)

The phenomenal Lebanese singer/songwriter, Yasmine Hamdan (of Soap Kills fame) will be making Cairo’s musical consciousness her playground this Friday as she makes beautiful, ethereal noise at the Music Tent in New Cairo.
    __________
SEASON 002 CLOSING PARTY @ VENT
    (Friday)

VENT will be celebrating what has been a wildly successful Season 002 with live sets from  familiar faces, Ismael and $$$TAG$$$, and will also feature masked bandits, Warpaint Kollectiv for some bassy techno shenanigans. As sad as we are to see them shut their doors, we’re pretty excited about this (read: quite literally bouncing off the walls). If only we could have closing parties every day.
    __________

    REGGANG @ THE TAP
(Friday)Reggang, surprisingly, are a reggae collective with a penchant for classic Bob Marley covers. They’ll be bringing their particular brand of chill/feel-good vibes to our favourite Maadi bar, the Tap. Join them for a really hazy start to the weekend.

    __________

BASHEER & SALALEM  @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB
    (Saturday)

Cairo Jazz Club ends the weekend on a high note with two of the most established musical acts in the city, as Basheer opens the night with his unique brand of Nubian-inspired music, before CJC favourites, Salalem, close the night.
