The sun is shining, the birds are singing, summer is creeping in and we can’t think of anything better than to spend the weekend in dark, noisy, smokey spaces? As always, Cairo’s bars and clubs are obliging, with big events taking place at Cairo Jazz Club, Riverside, VENt and more.

Funky Korba bar, the Garden, kicks off a funky weekend with the distinctly funky DJ Mobbz, who is set to ‘drop’ some funky tunes for a funky Thursday night.
    __________

    TAGMAGEDDON @ VENT
    (Friday)

Mostafa Onsy, Hassan Abou Alam – one of Cairo’s best and most underrated  young DJs – and $$$TAG$$$, are the harbingers of doom at Downtown alternative musical heaven, VENT, for a special apocalyptic night.
    __________

MASSAR EGBARI @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB
    (Thursday)

Massar Egbari, are hot property right now – fact. Having recently released a new album just before musical peers, Cairokee, the Alexandrian band are on a hot streak, so who knows – maybe Coke and Head & Shoulders ad deals on the horizon.
    __________

RIVERDEEP FT. SACCAO & SHADY EZZ @ RIVERSIDE
    (Friday)

Slowly becoming the go-to on the usually sparse Friday nights, Riverside‘s increasingly ambitious bookings welcomes Greek DJ, Saccao – check out Cairo Gossip’s exclusive interview with him here - and Shady Ezz – check out his latest CG Tunes set here – for another edition of Riverdeep.
    __________

    SHADY AHMED @ THE TAP
    (Saturday)

The only thing slower than Cairo nightlife on a Friday, is Cairo nightlife on a Saturday, but acoustic heart-melter, Shady Ahmed, closes the weekend at Maadi bar, the Tap, in typically smooth style. Also, he has awesome hair – I just want to touch it.
