What the hell is up with this weather? Ok, that’s enough small-talk. As always, there’s plenty going on across Cairo’s bars and clubs – plus a few interesting things happening outside of them. Here’s the best of this weekend’s events.
DISCOTECTURE FT TIGER STRIPES @ THE TEMPLE
This week’s edition of Electrum Records‘ Disctoecture series moves to the Temple, where Cairo’s clubbers will literally worship at the feet of Swedish disc-jockeying big-shot, Tiger Stripes, but not before Jo El Ahwal gets a turn on the decks.
CHEB KHALED @ CAIRO PORTO MALL
Sorry, but this had to be included. Just look at that face. If like me, you’re childhood is littered vaguely with memories of Aich, Di-Di, Abdel Kader and other Cheb Khaled classics, you’ll understand.
SEAFOOD FESTIVAL @ NAPA GRILL, FAIRMONT NILE CITY
Fairmont Nile City‘s Sea Food Festival needs no introduction, nor much of an explanation. Part with 250LE, roll up your sleeves and dig in to the smorgasbord of seafood dishes on offer. Starving yourself for at least 18 hours beforehand is recommended.
TIPSY TWOSOME FT. AGUIZI & FAHIM @ TIPSY BAR & LOUNGE
Speaking of faces, look at these two. Don’t be fooled by the crazed look in Aguizi & Fahim‘s eyes – this DJing duo is one of the most talented in Cairo right now and are back at Tipsy Bar & Lounge this weekend.
REGGAE NIGHT @ VENT
Dust off your Rastafarian hat from last Halloween and wear it without a hint of irony at VENT this weekend for Reggae Night, where Cairo’s best reggae-ists (yeah, they exist) will be taking to the stage. Bring eye-drops and have munchies prepared at home.
Nothing here tickling your fancy? Worry not; there’s plenty of other parties, gigs and events across the city – check out the CG events calendar!
