Things to Do in Cairo This Weekend
19 February 2014
Cairo’s bars and clubs are doing things a little different this weekend, as we see some familiar but elusive faces return to the spotlight, a rather interesting pub crawl and some top imports.
NEOBYRD @ VENT
(Friday)

“Everyone enjoys watching a man wearing a chicken head play dance music,” says VENT – and their not wrong. The whole thing sells itself, really; a slightly offbeat Egyptian – who may or may not be a ghost – whose performance attire consists of a chicken head.

DJ ZALAT & DJ SHAWKY @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB
(Friday)

It’s double trouble at Cairo Jazz Club, as young DJing scallywags, Zalat and SHawky, go back-to-back in the DJ booth, for a perfect weekend-starter to throw yourself into.
__________
RETURN OF THE HATTERS PUB CRAWL @ DOWNTOWN CAIRO
(Friday)
Again, this is one that just sells itself. It’s simple; line your stomach with some carbs and show up at El Horreya with a can-do attitude and a hat. No really, you need to wear a hat of some sort.
__________
NACELLE: HOUSE SESSIONS @ THE TEMPLE
(Friday)

As if slightly mental UK duo, PBR Steetgang, weren’t enough, Nacellians are also being treated to bad-ass mofos, Aly Goede and Tito, for one of the best House Sessions since, well, last week.
__________
JAZZ & BLUES NIGHT @ VENT
(Saturday)

In one of more chill nights at VENT in recent times, DJ Malik is in charge of the music. But more than that, there’s a special promotion on whiskey. Someone tell the guy who pays me that I won’t be in on Sunday.
