Alright folks, let’s snap out of the hangover, because it really is true that the best way to get out of this Sunday funk is to get straight back on the horse. This week, said horse will take you everywhere from crooning-central, Cheers, to cool-kid-central, Nacelle. Yee ha, giddy-up, and all that.
THE RIFF BAND @ CHEERS
Maadi bar, Cheers, is kicking off the week the right way, as co-owner and Cairo crooner, Ahmed Harfoush, brings in Noha Fekry and the Riff Band for an early-week dose of jazz.
URBAN SUNDAY FT. RAMY DJUNKIE @ THE TAP
Also in Maadi, Ramy DJunkie returns to the Tap for a Sunday-night staple in Urban Sunday, as the certified coolest cat (because there’s a lion, you know?) in Cairo leads a night of hip-hop and r&b.
JOEY + FAYEK + BAHER @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB
Three DJs, one Monday night, lots of dancing – this has become the M.O. for Cairo Jazz Club‘s Manic Mondays and this week sees Joey make his CJC debut, before Fayek takes over and Baher closes the night.
B-SIDE BY NACELLE @ CAFE D’NIL
A perfect prelude the weekend – and a contender against the Tap for coolest nebulous artwork in Cairo – this week’s B-Side sees Nacelle call on the considerable talents of Mohamed Sadek and Tamer Auf.
SAFI + SHERIF NAKHLA + RAMSI LEHNER
Safi kicks off things a night of old school tunes at Cairo Jazz Club this Wednesday, before Sherif Nakhla and Ramsi Lehner take to the decks for more old school malarkey with a back-to-back set.
