Things to Do in Cairo This Week
24 January 2016
First of all, brrrrr – it’s cold. Second of all, get over the cold, because as tempting as it is to go into hibernation mode, Cairo’s bars and clubs have plenty going on this week, with the likes of the Tap, Cairo Jazz Club and Nacelle ready and waiting to lure you out of your warm, warm homes and into the arms of that sweet, sweet combination of music and alcohol…
BOB DYLAN TRIBUTE @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB
(Sunday)

Cairo musicians, Hany Must, George Aboutar, Maged Faltas, Mohamed El Mallawany and Omar Magdy, have a tough night ahead of them as they pay homage to gruff-voiced legend Bob Dylan at Cairo Jazz Club.

URBAN SUNDAY @ THE TAP
(Sunday)

Essentially a fixture at the Tap nowadays, there are few better DJs in Cairo to lead the Maadi bar’s Urban Sunday than Ramy DJunkie – which he’ll be doing this week. Why can’t everything be that simple?
__________
BEL 3ARABY @ RIVERSIDE
(Wednesday)

After celebrating its second anniversary in spectacular fashion last week, Riverside has got straight back onto the proverbial horse with Ahmed Adaweya the man leading this week’s Bel 3araby.
__________
DIRRRRTY POP @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB
(Wednesday)

Flashbacks of N*Sync and a noodle-headed Justin Timber lake aside, Cairo Jazz Club‘s Dirrrrty Pop welcomes Safi and Ramy DJunkie to the deccks for some 90s classics, with the unique Nathalie Saba also performing. Nice.
__________
B-SIDE BY NACELLE @ CAFE D’NILE
(Wednesday)

This week sees Nacelle hand the excellent Tamer Auf his long overdue B-Side debut after a well-received appearance at Funk N Pop last week, with Mohamed Sadek rounding off the line-up.
