  • Things to Do in Cairo This Week

    things3

Business is booming around Cairo’s bars and clubs and so a busy weekend doesn’t mean you should relax for the week. Granted, parties have slowed down to the trickle of an 80 year old man peeing, but there are still some solid events that need going to.

WEDDING FESTIVAL 4th EDITION @ FAIRMONT HELIOPOLIS & TOWERS
    (Sunday & Monday)

Is there any better way to spend the beginning of the week than with a spirit-crushing walk through an exhibition all about weddings and marriage? Bring your mother along for an extra dose of suicidal rage that will keep you reaching for that bottle until the weekend guide.

AMIR SHARARA & HASSAM ABOU ALAM @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB
    (Monday)

Visiting from  the glorious Arabian equivalent of Laputa that is Dubai, DJ Amir Sharara takes time from his busy schedule to grace the decks of CJC with a kaleidoscope of house mixes. Opening the night is young pup, Hassan Abou Alam.

RED BULL TOWN HEROES: TOYBOYS @ TAMARAI
    (Tuesday)

Last week, the Town Heroes were defeated by dastardly Mr. Evil. But after another epic showdown – of which there is no photographic evidence – the Town Heroes were victorious! Meanwhile, at Tamarai, the decks have been re-calibrated and are all-set for the celebratory party featuring the Super Duckies (ToyBoys)! Shots for everyone!

    $$$TAG$$$ @ VENT
    (Tuesday)Cover Photo

Despite the pentagram logo and excessive dollar bill signs, the enigma of electronic music that is $$$TAG$$$ – or Tag Money to me and you – is not the latest musician to sell his soul to the devil for success – as far as we know.

SUPA DUPA FLY FEAT. DJ FEEDO @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB
    (Tuesday)

Supreme daddy of hip-hop and rap sets, DJ Feedo, sets up at CJC and, with a wave of his pimptastic cane, ushers in a dancing frenzy. Twerking and crunking are encouraged.
