With the Easter break ahead, it’s tempting to hibernate this week to save your money, your energy and you liver for the Sham El Nessim shenanigans that await at Egypt’s beaches. That’s sucker-talk; there’s too much to see and do across Cairo’s nightlife. Well, that’s not actually true – but there’s still enough to keep things ticking over at the Tap, Cairo Jazz Club and more.
URBAN SUNDAY @ THE TAP
(Sunday)Night two of recently launched weekly event, Urban Sunday, sees Switzerland-based Egyptian DJ, wah.leed, take to the decks for a night of hip-hp and r&b at Maadi bar, the Tap, from a man who Nacelle have taken a liking to over the last few months.
RICHARD R. + OUZO @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB
Continuing its rich vein of form in ruining everyone’s Tuesday mornings, Monday sees Cairo Jazz Club welcome deep and tech house DJ, Richard R., and Pacha Sharm resident, Ouzo.
SCREWDRIVER @ RIVERSIDE
With some of Cairo’s best DJs frequenting weekly event, Riverdeep, and increasing number of bands playing there, the schedule of Riverside in Zamalek has been more impressive by the week. This Monday, Screwdriver return for a typically energetic and loony performance.
MOHASSEB @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB
We can’t help shake of the feeling that there’s a story behind this picture, but whatever the case, this one is simple. It’s Mohasseb, it’s Cairo Jazz Club – it sells itself really.
Other options of ‘things’ to ‘do’ this week include reading a book, visiting your parents and gazing out of a window, marvelling at God’s creation. No? Ok. Check out the Cairo Gossip events calendar for more.
