  • Things to Do in Cairo This Week

    thingsf

Cairo’s bars and clubs hosts a range of noteworthy parties this week, as the Student DJ runner-up begins to come into his own, two DJing brothers team up something called ‘Cairo 360‘ celebrates its fifth anniversary and more.

NOURRE FAHMY + JOE EL MESTEKAWY & OUZO @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB
    (Monday)

Student DJ 2014 finalist, Nourre (or Nour depending on what day of the week it is) Fahmy opens for a sibling duo act we’ve rarely seen in Cairo before – that of Ouzo and his younger brother, Joe – take on the Cairo Jazz Club decks.
    __________

PRIVATE SESSIONS FT. GAWDAT + A-SQUARED @ THE GARDEN
(Monday)Exactly one month after playing Private Sessions together, sibling duo Gawdat and the tallest DJ in Cairo, A-Squared, return to Korba bar the Garden for some early-week mischief.
    __________

    AYA METWALLI @ VENT
    (Tuesday)

Yes, we know – VENT may seem a little scary, their artwork cold and their literature ambiguous, but the Downtown bar/art-space is a pussy-cat, really. This week, fresh off CJC’s special Women’s Day event, Aya Metwalli returns to the stage.
    __________

CAIRO 360 FIFTH ANNIVERSARY @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB
    (Wednesday)

Our amigos at Cairo 360 are celebrate their fifth anniversary this month and to mark the occasion, they’re going back to their favourite bar, Cairo Jazz Club, for what is always one hell of a party.
    __________

    Special mention…

JULIO IGLESIAS @ PORTO CAIRO MALL
    (Wendesday)

Now, going from Gawdat, Nourre Fahmy, et al, to Julio Iglesias is quite the jump – but with Mother’s Day just around the corner, tickets to see the lacquered demi-god that is Julio Iglesias would make for a mighty impressive…
