  • Things to do in Cairo This Week

    todo

After last week’s party-packed weekend, I’m writing this with an IV drip pumping a cocktail of B12 and concentrated caffeine into my system. But as they say, there’s no rest for the wicked and we’re all gearing up for more parties, more music and more alcohol.

    KARAOKE NIGHT @ AMICI ZAMALEK
    (Sunday)

Reopening their doors after that pesky month-long fire drill, Amici Zamalek invites everyone back for cocktails and a dose of public humiliation. Anyone up for a duet of Ebony & Ivory?

RA2ASS SHANABAK @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB
    (Monday)

Back in the day, real men had facial hair – unfortunately, so did women. Whatever the case, Cairo Jazz Club takes Movember by storm and hosts a charity night that’ll tickle more than just your fancy- if you’re lucky.

SOOPAR LOX & DJ SAFI @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB
    (Tuesday)

After quick work with a vacuum cleaner and lint-roller, CJC invites DJ Safi and live Oriental House band, Soopar Lox, to the stage. Great line-up – shots anyone?

DANCESTOCK: PATRICK HAGENAAR & DJ KARIM MORSY @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB
    (Wednesday)

I know what you’re thinking, it’s probably exactly what I’m thinking – minus the fantasies involving Ursula the Sea Witch – but it’s not my fault that CJC has this many amazing events lined up. This week’s Dancestock sees Dutch import, Patrick Hagenaar, leave one cloud of smoke only to enter into another kind altogether.

    REWIND @ CLOUDELEVEN
    (Wednesday)

This is no rehash, it’s Rewind…rewound. Back again at Cloudeleven, DJ Amr Hosny and Sisters G will have you hitting the floor faster than the bottle of something-something in your hand.
