With a busy weekend of parties and drunken regrets behind us, Cairo’s bars and clubs have come up good for a change and there are some tasty-looking shindigs taking place across the capital this week; the return of B-Side, the penultimate night of Dancestock and more.
LIVE! @ AMICI(Monday)
It’s not been the best year for Amici Zamalek, but the ever popular cocktail bar is slowly but surely recovering from the electrical fire that may or may not have (cough) caused its temporary shutdown and refurbishment. LIVE! sees Amr Emad and Mostafa El Sherif aka Disco Misr lead provide the music.
MOHASSEB @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB
Mohasseb, mo’ problems – why, Cairo Jazz Club, would you book Mohasseb on a Monday? Don’t you know that Tuesday is the busiest day of my week? Not cool.
A NIGHT FROM BORADWAY W/ AHMED HARFOUSH @ SAIGON RESTAURANT & LOUNGE
Fairmont Nile City’s Saigon Restaurant & Lounge welcomes back Ahmed Harfoush for a special night dedicated to the kitschiest, campiest Broadway tunes. It’s not that much different to any given Harfoush night, but let’s just go with it.
B-SIDE BY NACELLE (MAADI EDITION) @ THE TAP
After a very brief hiatus, Nacelle‘s B-Side is back and, in a brave move, has moved the party to Maadi’s newest bar, the Tap. The always dependable Safi opens proceedings, before Dubai-based duo, Deep Crates Cartel, headline. Uh, Maadi.
DANCESTOCK 2014: SHARAM JEY + SHADY EZZ @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB
The penultimate, and possibly most anticipated, night of this year’s Dancestock sees the uber-popular Sharam Jey headline, with the death eater of Cairo DJs, Shady Ezz, opening at Cairo Jazz Club.
