  • Things to Do in Cairo This Week

    thingsu

With the three day weekend already a glorious distant memory, the harsh realities of this cruel and complex life are softened only by Cairo’s bars and clubs and their ferocious commitment to keeping us busy  as the clock of inevitability ticks down our superfluous lives. Life is pointless, but here’s the best of these week’s events.

PRIVATE SESSIONS FT. MOHASSEB @ THE GARDEN
    (Monday)

The conveyor belt of memorable nights that is the Garden‘s weekly Private Sessions delivers another of Cairo’s top DJs in the form of Mohasseb.

JAZZ & SASS FT. ELLIE OF LONDON @ RIVERSIDE RESTAURANT & LOUNGE
    (Monday)

I can’t tell for sure what the jazz-to-sass ratio will be like at Riverside, but one thing I do know for sure is that the very talented Ellie of London has both by the bucket-load.

CAROLINE LEANDER @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB
    (Tuesday)

Cairo Jazz Club is calling out to jazz fans this Tuesday, with regulars, Ashraf Habashy & the Jazz Caterers, as well as Danish jazz-pop singer-songwriter, Caroline Leander.

    WETROBOTS <3 BOSAINA [BOOSYKAAT'S BIRTHDAY KINGDOM] @VENT

The cosmos of obscurities and oddities that is VENT welcomes electro-clash threesome and KIK members, Wetrobots <3 Bosaina, for something called BOOSYKAAT’S BIRTHDAY KINGDOM.

    TAMER AUF @ EL MOJITO
    (Wednesday)

Things have quietened down a little bit at El Mojito since reopening, but this week,  the Conrad Cairo Hotel bar gets down and dirty with the one and only, Tamer Auf.

EL FUSION FT. 47 SOUL & SOOPAR LOX
    (Wednesday)

Week two of this year’s El Fusion series welcomes eclectic Palestinian band, 47 Soul, as well as the long awaited Cairo Jazz Club return of Oriental house band, Soopar Lox. Hurrah!
