With the taste of the weekend still on my tongue and the smell of it on my breath, I stand defiantly in the face of doctor’s orders, looking towards the treasures that await me at Cairo’s bars and clubs this week. Here’s the best of the week’s events.
VICHI’S FASHION NIGHT OUT @ EL MOJITO
As I’ve said so often, I’m not big one plugging other websites – I’m just that petty. But, for this week at least, Vichi is my top of my favourites list. On Monday, Vichi is throwing a big invite-only party at recently reopened El Mojito in celebration of the fancy new makeover that they’ve undertaken on the site. Good enough reason for me.
DESTINATION CJC: DJ RAE @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB
Calm down pervs. I can tell you now and save you a whole lot of trouble – she’s not interested. Ibiza-based British DJ, singer, songwriter and producer, Rae, is taking over Cairo Jazz Club this week, which naturally has loins twitching across Cairo.
QUIT TOGETHER @ VENT
KIK members and possible aliens, Zuli and Bosaina, died and came came back to life as musical doctors, or something like that; a journey that has granted them the powers to invent – yes actually invent – new sounds, many of which shall be showcased at VENT. That DJ Rae really is a looker, isn’t she?
NACELLE LIVE: CRAZY P @ THE TEMPLE
Live music at Nacelle? Yeah, bro. British group, Crazy P – formerly ‘Crazy Penis’ – headlines this special event, with local ruffians, the Meteors Project (one half of whom I share an office with, Cairo 360′s assistant editor/glorified proofreader, Gaser El Safty) open.
SAY WHAAAT? FT. DJ FEEDO @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB
When it comes to music, hip-hop and r&b are my guilty pleasures and know one understands that in Cairo like CJC and Nile FM’s only saving grace, DJ Feedo. God bless them both.
