It’s looking like a quiet week across Cairo’s bars and clubs, as we all save money and energy for the upcoming Easter weekend. But there are still plenty of things to see and do while holding a nice, cold beer in your hand.
TWO WOODEN STONES @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB
I know what you’re thinking; 1) stones aren’t made out of wood, 2) why is it two when there’s four of them and 3) how long it did it take the guy on the far right to grow that epic beard? All this and more will be answered as the German band take to the stage at Cairo Jazz Club.
BACK IN TIME @ AMICI ZAMALEK
I don’t understand anything on this flyer except for ‘Back in Time‘, ‘Amici Zamalek‘ and ‘John Damien‘. Using my awesome powers of deduction, I believe this is some sort of nostalgia-fest, where John Damien will be playing. Apparently, attendees are encouraged to wear garb from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s.
DELIRIUM FT SHADY EZZ & OUZO @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB
The Oxford English Dictionary defines ‘Delirium‘ as: An acutely disturbed state of mind characterized by restlessness, illusions, and incoherence, occurring in intoxication, fever and other disorders. Where do I sign up?
MAHMOUD REFAT @ VENT
Grizzly godfather of Cairo’s increasingly prominent electronic music scene, Mahmoud Refat, has been seen wandering the streets of Downtown Cairo aimlessly under a cloud of melancholy now that D-CAF is over. He’ll be performing at VENT this week in an attempt to fill the void.
SHAIMA @ SAIGON RESTAURANT & LOUNGE
Amidst the madness, house music and boozing, one should find time to appreciate the finer things in Cairo. Soulful songstress, Shaima, performing at Fairmont Nile City‘s lavish locale of luxurious lounging, Saigon, ticks all of those boxes.
As always, this is just a snapshot of the live music, parties and other things awaiting you across the city. Check out the Cairo Gossip events calendar for more.
