It’s been a huge year for Theater of Dreams and organiser, Mahmoud Zidan – fact. Some nine months after debuting with its inaugural festival in Sinai way back in January, TOD has secured possibly its biggest booking yet in the form of Hernán Cattáneo.
The gig, which is also set to welcome Aguizi & Fahim and Baher, is set to take place right here in Cairo, atop Le Pacha 1901 in Zamalek on Thursday 15th of October and house fans are thoroughly buzzing about the news – and they’re right to do so.
As one of, if not the, biggest DJs to ever come out of South America, the Argentine is credited as one of the first figures to popularise electronic music in his homeland through his time at FM Z95 in the early nineties. It was in 1996, though, that things really took off for the Buenos Aires native, when he was bestowed with the position of Clubland Pacha resident. Since then, Cattáneo has released some 15 singles and over twenty compilation albums, garnering a huge international following in the process.
With summer on its way out, the event follows TOD's most recent foray to Egypt's coasts; August saw Zidan and co. the North Coast's Sidi Abdel Rahman with some of the best DJs in Egypt in tow.
