No less than two weeks after wrapping up what was a huge anniversary celebration in Sinai earlier this month, Mahmoud Zidan and Theater of Dreams are back on the proverbial horse and have just announced their latest Cairo gig.
Taking place on Thursday 25th of February at Le Pacha 1901 in Zamalek, the headliner for the evening is none other than Richy Ahmed. As one of the faces of house music in the UK right now, Ahmed has been leaving a trail of musical destruction across Europe in recent times, thanks to his seemingly uninhibited approach to music – an approach that sees him dip into everything from techno and electronica, to funk, disco and hip-hop. So influential is Ahmed right now that he has been in Resident Advisor’s Top 100 DJs for the last two years and is widely credited for kick-starting a new breed of British DJ.
The night will also see some local talent strut their stuff, too, with Abou Samra and Fayek rounding off the line-up. The event marks the latest in a string of TOD successes under the direction of Zidan, who’s vision for a perennial beach-side electronic music festival way back at the star of 2015 has seen TOD rise the ranks as one of the most popular event organisers in Cairo.
