While the Temple has long been a holy site of pilgrimage for clubbers in Cairo, the last few months has seen the Giza Nile-side venue enjoy a new lease of life as it begun hosting its own parties and events.
Though these have been sporadic, this Thursday (14th) sees the Temple kick off a new staple of their schedule. The Temple Club Series will hold two events per month in collaboration with international labels and the event’s debut is kicking things off in style, with Mobilee Records’ Lee Van Dowski set to headline a night that will also feature the disc-jockeying talents of Blurr residents, Abou Samra and Hafez, taking to the decks back-to-back.
This isn’t the first time the Temple has worked with either parties, though; Blurr Entertainment and Mobile Records teamed up in November 2015 to bring the Dutch label’s infamous #LetGo series to the Temple with a gig that saw Mobilee founder, Ana Schneider, headline. The series will come as a welcome addition to the nightlife scene, because, well, the more the merrier.
