With two national holidays falling on weekdays this year, October is already a blessed month, but between Wednesday 7th and Friday 9th, Om El Donia and das Mutterland are coming together in holy union, as Cairo Jazz Club marks the most epic of all occasions, Oktoberfest.
The three-night celebration of all things beer is set to welcome a special line-up that will see Ramy DJunkie kick things off on the first night, before increasingly popular local band, Funk OFF, perform and Amro & the Big Bang Boogie bring their unique fusion of electro, funk, disco, Latin and swing to proceedings on Thursday. The last night, meanwhile, is an all-house affair, as DJs Special K and Nader Tahawy take to the decks to round up what will certainly not be for the faint of heart – or liver.
As is always the case at CJC, attendees can expect all manner of surprise throughout the three nights and we assume that lederhosen are encouraged.
