It’s been a busy year for the party pushers at LaidDaze and it’s going to stay that way that in the run-up to the New Year. Having made a splash on the nightlife scene this summer with the likes of Gardens of God, Cristoph, Âme, HVOB, Pete Oak and Him_Self_Her among the acts that have headlined their events, LaidDaze are closing the year with a bang and have announced two rather tasty-looking parties.
The first is set to see the LaidDaze crew join forces with local record label, BESWORX, for a special night (venue TBA) on December 24th with a line-up made up of Mohey, SLim Nasr, Abou Samra, Nourre Fahmy and headliners for the night, Italian trio, Agents of Time. Six days later, the troops are hitting to road to Gouna with another impressive line-up in tow; three-piece band, Pillow Talk, headline a night that will also see Baher, Sebzz and Omar El Sabh flex their considerable DJing muscle at the Clubhouse.
The Gouna gig is set to be a particularly special night, thanks to its fascinating headliners; the unique vocals of Sammy D, seemingly impossible multi–instrumentality of Ryan Williams and synth-work of Mikey Tello come together to make Pillow Talk one of the most interesting live electronic bands around – that’s not to take away anything from the first party, though. Having celebrated their first anniversary this month, BESWORX has emerged as one of the biggest pushers of techno and tech house in Cairo, amassing an impressive roster of DJs and producers along the way, including Student DJ 2014 winner, Gaser El Safty, as well as Hatem El Chiati and Hassan Abou Alam.
