  • La Bodega Opens Swanky New Branch at Galleria40

So, you like your decadent cocktails over sumptuous appetisers in a dim-lit, sophisticated surrounding, but you’re tired of schlepping over to Zamalek for your fix of fine dining? Schlepp no more: La Bodega, one of Zamalek’s most iconic dining landmarks, has opened a new branch in Sheikh Zayed, at the super swanky Galleria40.

In the works for over a year now, the new venue promises a massive space decked out in lush, colourful leather couches, alabaster globe-shaped lighting and an original mural reminiscent of a Hitchcock femme fatale in 1950’s Cuba. While it’s a whole new look for La Bodega, the whole place still reflects the brand’s trademark understated sophistication and elegance.

The new menu, courtesy of South African chef Johnny Lement, is heavy on influences from his home country and includes mouth-watering concoctions like chicken liver in chipotle espresso dip, duck rolls in ginger-honey soy and sweet chilli, honey-roasted beetroot salad with goat’s cheese and pistachios, and cashew nut encrusted beef fillet in Madagascan pepper sauce and Parisian potatoes.

Oh, and did we mention their sticky toffee pudding?  We can’t wait to get our hands on these delectable dishes, and we’re sure that we’ll be making the pilgrimage over to the new branch to feast our eyes and stomachs on the brand new La Bodega space. Girly cocktails included, of course!
