Hot damn, son! The guys that brought Coolio to Cairo earlier this year have pulled another rabbit out of the hat, with r&b songstress, Mya, set to perform in Egypt’s capital at the next Supafly party on Thursday 23rd of April at the Temple in Giza.
The Grammy Award-winning singer – of Ghetto Superstar & Lady Marmalade fame – has collaborated with everyone from Christina Aguilera and Lil’ Kim, to human canvas, Lil’ Wayne, platinum-haired crotch-thruster and thong-appreciator, Sisqo, and the third member of the Fugees whose name no one ever seems to remember.
With six studio albums, millions of record sales, thirteen film appearance and a Grammy to her name, Mya coming to Egypt is a big deal. Having very much been a part of many a nineties kid’s musical awakening, this is set to be one hell of a gig and another notch on the belt of organisers, Amr Hosny and Alia Abdel Rahman.
An impressive line-up of DJs are set to complete the night, too, with Hosny himself set to take to the decks, with local DJ, Moneim, and New Yorker, DJ Music Rocka, also playing sets.
And to round-off the night in true hippity-hoppity fashion, the event will also host a dance battle - yes, a dance battle - pitting Cairo's dopest dance crews against each other, with attendees voting on their favourite and the winner receiving a 'handsome' prize.
