  • CG Weekend Guide: Hazem Beltagui, Almena, Bahiyaa, El Leithy & More

Disco Misr @ Music Zone (18 of 56)

As always, Cairo never fails to deliver a high dose of entertainment every weekend. So put on your dancing shoes and get ready to party because you will definitely be grooving somewhere in Cairo; whether that place is close to your home or far away.

Starting off with the busiest day of the week, aka Thursday, Cairo Jazz Club 610 is hosting the internationally acclaimed DJs Ashmawy, Hazem Beltagui, and Paul Thomas on their VIVID Album Night.  DJs Misty, Ahmed Salah & HAZem will also be blasting the night at 24K Bar and Restaurant. On the other side of Cairo, Bluezophrenia will be performing a tribute to Red Hot Chili Peppers at The Tap West.

Elsewhere, The Garden Nile Front will see DJ Goblin and his B2B set, along with DJs Nour Oden & Sheeko, who will be playing all sorts of electronic arrangements!  And Zigzag are back at it again with Stas Drive making his “Theater of Dreams” debut, and DJs Hisham Zahran and Aly Goede will also take to the decks. AEON is also secretly preparing a surprise, we don’t know much about it, but there will be Karaoke & DJs courtesy of NRG Music, and a Percussion show by Hazem.

And finally, Cairo Jazz Club is paying Tribute to one of the best English rock bands, Oasis, covered by the best musicians this Thursday! Need to know who they are, and how good it’s going to be? Then head to CJC.

Friday is for the chill folks out there! The Tap West is back with their Let’s Do Brunch, and DJs Sobhi & Agaty will be taking care of the music. At night, The Tap West will be also bringing our local band Wust El Balad to serve up an epic performance. Meanwhile, DJ Mohasseb is taking over Cairo Jazz Club, and will be playing some of his crazy house sets.

If you want to go all local, we’ve got you covered. Music Zone’s Hashtaka Night brings their belly dancer Linda, who will dance to Mahmoud El Leithy’s Sha3by songs, along with DJs Migo, Rika, and Wesso. DJ Armen will also be shuffling through his hottest sets, and belly dancer Marise will shimmy and move her hips to his beats at Nineteen Twenty Five.

And because Old is Gold, Glass Onion will bring the Beatles’ songs back to life at The Tap East, while Paranoid Eyes bring Pink Floyd to The Tap Maadi. Let’s not forget about the usual Fel Badrom night at Basement – Urban Pub featuring the hottest 90’s songs every Friday.

Also, a different guest is visiting Cairo Jazz Club 610, Japanese DJ/producer KENTO, and, our local DJ A.K will be dropping some of his best beats as well. Lastly, 24K Bar & Restaurant is back with its La Familia party.  Hailing all the way from Berlin, DJ Edgar Peng will be spicing it up with 24K’s favourite DJs, Hafez and Jimmy.

This week, Saturday is dominated by Cairo Jazz Clubs parties. First off, we have their Saturday Brunch N’ Chill: tasty food, and eargasmic music by Apartment 88, DJ Hassan Abou Alam and DJ AWE at Cairo Jazz Club 610. Meanwhile, back in Dokki, Cairo Jazz Club is doubling Saturday L’Oriental‘s greatness by welcoming two of the best funky and oriental bands: Almena and Bahiyaa.

Last, but not least, if you’re sick of hearing everyone else, head to Basement –Urban Pub and hear nothing but the sound of your “angelic” voice at their Karaoke Night.

These are only a few of the events taking place this weekend across the capital – check out the Cairo Gossip calendar for more.
