I don’t think I’m being controversial in anyway when I say that Alchemy is one of the most unique members of Cairo’s bars and clubs contingent. You can point to their creative cocktails, their delicious food or their endlessly entertaining decor, but the real key to understanding why I inevitably end up there several times a week is that they like to celebrate anything – even the seasons.
This Thursday, Alchemy is putting a special guest-only soiree together – partly to mark the beginning of spring, but mostly because why the hell not?
Asking attendees to dress in their finest pastel colours, Bloom, as the shindig has been suitably named, will be awash with cocktails that you can drink out of a hollowed-out fruit like a boss, with deadly disc-jockeying siblings, Gawdat, and Ibiza-based DJ, Axel Fowley, taking care of the music.
Fowley is no stranger to Cairo, of course; the former Sahl Hasheesh resident toured Cairo’s best bars last December – one of the stops being Alchemy.
I’ll leave you with random quote that uses the word ‘bloom’, because why the hell not?
“In this illusory gloom, like a night-blooming flower, let your imagination bloom in a riot of color.”
