Set to take place on April 3rd and 4th this year, the annual I Love Nacelle Weekend stands as one of the most anticipated events on Cairo’s nightlife calendar. For the hardcore Nacellian that never miss a B-Side or House Sessions, it’s like Christmas, Eid and Hanukkah all rolled into one. Yeah, it’s that big of a deal.
Such a big deal, in fact, that Tito, Hisham and co have put together a fittingly phat line-up. Yeah, we’re trying to bring ‘phat’ back. This year’s two-day extravaganza is set to deliver a stacked line-up, with the first day seeing eccentric sibling duo, Monkey Safari, headlining, and one of the most technically gifted young DJs in Cairo, Hassan Abou Alam, opening.
Day two is set to be even bigger, meanwhile, with Tito and Safi playing back-to-back on a day that will also see New Yorker, Nickodemus, and ‘Gumbo Funk’ practitioner, Captain Planet, weave their magic.
This all sounds great, but it wouldn’t be Nacelle without there being a little mystery-come-torture in the whole thing; the venue is yet to be announced but will likely be reveal on Sunday (March 29th) when tickets go on sale.
It’s a busy time for Nacelle, who are also preparing for annual beach-side festival, Sandbox, which is set to be held in May. Ah, summer – it’s almost here.
